interesting, but music is really intrusive

I was fortunate enough to play this song for my dad before he died. A true leader of the band, he was. A consummate classical/jazz musician. Concert violinist. Operatic tenor. Creator and conductor of the Broward Youth Symphony in Florida who, in his younger years, toured with Bob Hope and other stars. When I first heard this song, I couldn’t hold back the tears. Such a beautiful tribute by a great song writer.

Tom is Art, as in Tom & Jerry. Art was flying to Mexico to act in Catch 22.

He would not make the greatest English Professor. He is pretty good at writing literature. Not so goo about analyzing literature, even if it is his ow. Plato made the point in Book 10 of The Republic

This was about Art going to Mexico to film Catch 22 and leaving him behind ... and out of that comes a masterpiece

This song reminds me of a story when the album "Bridge Over Troubled Water" first came out. I used to play the album on an 8 Track in my college dorm room while studying. My room mate and I used to listen to this album studying for hours at a time in a college town in the middle of the USA... middle of nowhere actually... where the only thing to do mostly was study engineering. We were all Freshman and away from home. This song was on echoing down the hallway and I looked up in the doorway and another student was standing there with this sad look on his face. I asked what was wrong and he said. "I am from the Bronx. I just had to stand here and listen". Over 50 years later, I hear the song and I still remember that moment like it was yesterday.

Why was this channel abandoned? I really enjoy the video speaking with collectors

Mr. Schrader was one of my teachers in the first year at university in Kyoto, 1971. He had lived in Japan for a few years with his Japanese wife. When I first saw him, I thought he looked like one of my favorite singer-songwriters - Tom Rush. One day he didn’t show up in class on time. We had to wait for twenty minutes. That was a rule. If a teacher didn’t come to class, we were supposed to wait for twenty minutes, then we were allowed to leave. At the last moment, he showed up with an awkward smile. He put his raincoat on the desk. It was a rainy day. Then he went out somewhere without saying anything. We waited for another five minutes. He came back with a cup of coffee in his hand. Another day he gave us an assignment: Go see "Five Easy Pieces." It was on at a cinema in Kyoto. He also said something like 'Don't waste your time on "Love Story," which was a far more popular film that year. Fifty-three yeas later, I still remember vividly and fondly those days with Mr. Schrader.

I don't think he should be so hard on those early songs. Maybe not as sophisticated as his later work, but fine songs nevertheless.

I'm not done the book yet but "I'm dancing" is my favorite chapter so far.
